Description:
Liam Fisher-Jones currently serves as Development Director for the East, Central and Southern Africa College of Physicians, with the principal goal of doubling the output of physicians being trained in the region. Since 2007, he has been a director of More Partnership, Europe’s leading fundraising and strategic advisory firm for the third sector. Liam started his career at the London School of Economics, helping establish interdisciplinary research centres whilst pursuing on-the-job intensive training in fundraising, using methodologies adopted by the UK university sector throughout the 1990s. He then spent ten years with the Royal Shakespeare Company, leading on fundraising, partnerships and corporate engagement. He served as a Board member of AMREF UK for six years and has been a technical advisor to AMREF HQ for a similar period. Liam spent a year rebuilding a hospital in Zanzibar, with his physician wife; and has cycled 12,000 kms from Cairo to Cape Town, raising funds for AMREF’s work with mothers and babies. Liam currently lives with his family in Uganda.
